What is the concept of travel?

The word “travel” comes from the Old French word “travail,” which meant “hard work.” Travel is the movement of people or artifacts such as aircraft, vessels, trains, and other forms of transport between geographically diverse lands. The goal of travel is to foster social connections, provide opportunities to learn and develop, and demonstrate commitment. It allows us to be fully immersed in an operation, learn new skills, and learn about other cultures. It helps us get to know ourselves and others better. To put it another way, all we need to do is boost our resiliency!

All of the knowledge that surrounds us is continuously filtered by our minds. It determines how we perceive and view reality. Our senses aren’t the only ones that influence what we see, hear, and sound. It also heavily relies on what we believe, trust, and know, as well as our ability to imagine alternate scenarios. Furthermore, our brain is wired for challenges; we require them in order to feel healthy. We enrich ourselves with new contexts for comparison and give our world space to expand by immersing ourselves in new cultures, ecosystems, culinary practices, and so on.

Why travel?

Travel provides us with rare moments to (re)discover and express our hopes and talents. Some people consider travel to be a form of freedom. It’s about being able to do whatever they want and have a fun day. It was a way to get away. “Elsewhere” was the theme of travel. A place, which is full of exciting things and people. It is about getting out of the system and learning about the environment, why people behave the way they do, and how they think. It’s all about pushing myself to new heights and being more at ease in my own skin. A quick trip to the beach or to a new city can provide a diversion from the job, pressures, and obligations that we face at home. It doesn’t matter whether it is a 5-day trip or a year-long journey around the world – you often have the freedom to break from your shell when no one knows you. Traveling allows us to be anonymous and question and reinvent ourselves, which also leads to self-discovery. Many travelers recognize the importance of “finding” a sense of purpose; answers to questions of life; or just the essence of their being. We also return from a trip with a greater understanding of our strengths and weaknesses.

In the end, traveling has given no answers to any questions. “The more you learn, the less you know,” as the saying goes. Traveling has only led to the emergence of a slew of new concerns. Have fun and make memories to last a lifetime the next time you visit, but don’t forget how much you can learn. Ask questions, be interested, study, ponder, and then share what you’ve learned with the rest of the world.
